 As a new migrant or as a newcomer from another part of New Zealand, you are welcome to join Waikato Newcomers Network. We would like you to feel at home here and settle well into your new community.

 You may also get support with settlement issues. You are welcome, regardless of your age, your nationality or the language you speak.

 Join with us to get involved in your new community and meet other newcomers. 

What we offer:

o        Informal social activities that take place on regular basis.

o        Get togethers that give you the opportunity to meet other newcomers, to share ideas and experiences and to start new friendships. 

In addition you could join an interest group or start your own.

Who Are We?

Waikato Newcomers Network is a non-profit organisation run entirely by unpaid volunteers. It has been set up under the auspices of the Hamilton Multicultural Services Trust. Most of us have at some point been new to the Waikato region so understand the difficulties faced when moving here.

We are here to support anyone new to Waikato. You do not have to be from overseas, if you are new to the Waikato from other parts of New Zealand, Waikato Newcomers Network is for you.   If you are an immigrant from an English speaking country Waikato Newcomers Network is for you. If you are from a non-English speaking country and new to Waikato, Waikato Newcomers Network is for you.

We are not...

·         connected with any religious group or church, but we welcome all regardless of beliefs, or

·         tied to any political organisation and welcome all regardless of political view, or

·         tied to any business or commercial organisation

(Although as a non-profit organisation run by volunteers we do accept donations or sponsorship).
